Human Capital Formation in Science and Technology

STEM graduates, brain drain, and scientific talent retention policies in Argentina.

Short analysis ⎯ 29 de junio de 2026

Argentina annually graduates around 12,000 engineers and 3,000 professionals in exact sciences, figures that are insufficient to sustain an autonomous technological development process. This relative scarcity is compounded by the emigration of highly qualified professionals to markets with better salary conditions.

Industrialization is not a luxury but a necessity for developing economies.
