Poverty and Social Mobility in Greater Buenos Aires
Panel analysis of poverty entry and exit dynamics and the factors determining upward mobility.

Using EPH panel data for the period 2019-2024, this paper analyzes poverty dynamics in Greater Buenos Aires. Results indicate that poverty is a highly dynamic phenomenon: approximately 40% of households falling below the poverty line manage to exit within a year.
