Argentina’s federal tax-sharing regime, in force since 1988, has been subject to multiple criticisms for its procyclical nature and its inability to reduce regional development disparities. Provinces in the north of the country continue to show socioeconomic indicators significantly below the national average.

Industrialization is not a luxury but a necessity for developing economies.
